The Lake and Peninsula School District is committed to ensuring that its website is accessible to everyone, including students, families, staff and community members with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard adopted under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and we are working toward full conformance ahead of the federal deadline that applies to the district.

• Pages use a consistent structure with a “skip to main content” link, meaningful headings, and labeled forms and buttons.
• Text and background colors are chosen to meet WCAG contrast requirements, and the site can be used with a keyboard alone.
• Text can be resized in your browser without loss of content, and pages reflow for phones and tablets.
• Images carry text descriptions where they convey information; decorative photos are marked so screen readers skip them.
• Site search is available from the menu bar on every page.

• Some documents on this site are PDF files that were created before the current site, and not all of them are tagged for screen readers. We are reviewing them and will replace or remediate documents as they are updated. If you need any document in another format, contact us and we will provide it.
• Some content is provided through third-party services embedded in our pages (Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Forms, YouTube, the Alaska Teacher Placement job board, and BoardBook). Their accessibility is governed by those providers; we can supply the same information directly on request.
