Consultation with Tribal Organizations

The Lake and Peninsula School District (LPSD) is working on increasing collaboration with tribal organizations in order to better serve the children in our communities. Communication is a key component to having more collaborative opportunities between LPSD and tribal officials. In addition, LPSD recognizes the importance of making evaluations of programs, applications, program descriptions, and plans for improvement readily available.

The consultation packet below contains information about district-wide programs: the Indian Policies and Procedures, Impact Aid, and the federal programs the district operates. It is the hope of the district that this information will serve as a starting point to increased communication.

LPSD is seeking your feedback on a number of topics, including:

  • educational programs, including curriculum
  • equal participation of Alaska Native students in educational and co-curricular programs
  • modifications, if any, to the Indian Policies and Procedures outlined in School Board Policy
  • use of state and federal funding

How to Comment

Tribal officials can provide comment, feedback, and/or ask questions through:

  • the public comment section of LPSD School Board meetings
  • public comment at Local School Advisory Committee (LSAC) meetings
  • the tribal consultation survey and feedback forms below
  • the Parent Advisory Committee
  • ESEA meetings
  • your local principal
